Where did you graduate from? What year? Major/minor & why?

I have a B.S. in Civil Engineering from The George Washington University (2012) and a dual MS in Historic Preservation and Urban Planning from Columbia University (2017). I have always had an interest in city planning and design, history, and science so I wanted to find a way to combine all my interests into one.

Position/Company you are currently employed?

I am currently the Historic Preservation Officer as well as serve as a Principal Planner for the City of Denton, TX.

Favorite memory at Parish?

That is a tough question. I am a Parish Lifer, so that should tell you something.

Other stand out memories of Parish?

Not necessarily a memory of an event, but rather the feeling. Being the second graduating class from Parish and helping to "build" the high school was pretty electric. We had the opportunity to create the traditions that students get to enjoy today. Not many people can say that.

Biggest accomplishment so far in your career?

Working a job that a love that touches on many of my interests.

Biggest lesson learned to date in your career?

Always stand up for yourself both personally and professionally. You are your biggest advocate.

You can’t live without your?

My Spotify playlists.

What do you miss most about Parish?

The community. It was all I knew for 14+ years. I am so grateful and blessed by all the friendships I have from that time that are still a part of my life today.

Would you like to give a shout out to a former Parish faculty/staff member?

Most of those faculty members who shaped my Parish experience have left or retired, but Mr. Patton and Dr. Hotz will always be my number ones!

Any advice to recent college graduates?

If you don't know who YOU are, start to get to know yourself. Finding out who you are as a person in terms of values, wants, needs, etc...to me that is your biggest journey in life, so start it, even if it seems scary or uncomfortable.
