Where did you graduate from? Major/Minor and why?

I graduated from Baylor University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. I stumbled into it after deciding the medical path wasn't for me!

Career?

I'm a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer (a fancy way of saying software engineer) at Southwest Airlines.

Favorite memory at Parish?

I'd be remiss (or just probably get in trouble) if I didn't say the day I met my wife, Caitlin Colvin '12.

Other stand-out memories of Parish?

Generally all the friendships created there -- most of my closest friends to this day are people I met at Parish all the way back to Pre-K. 

Biggest accomplishment in your career?

This year has been pretty big as I've been at Southwest for 5 years and I received my promotion to a Senior Engineer. The tech industry can be very competitive so I'm proud to have achieved my position and love what I do, much less at one of the most respected companies in the world.

Biggest lesson learned in the adult world?

Look for a change or create change for yourself as soon as you start to feel complacent or too comfortable - not necessarily a new job, but new challenges and learning opportunities.

You can’t live without your…?

My laptop being the obvious choice, I'll say my passport. My wife and I are always thinking about the places we'll go next after the trip we already have planned.

What do you miss most about Parish?

Seeing all of my closest friends everyday and hangouts in the senior lounge.

Do you have any advice for our newest Parish alumni?

Don't always pick the most comfortable route - you often learn the most when you're uncomfortable.
