Head Coach: Kamburee Gawaxab
Coach Kamburee Gawaxab has dedicated over 20 years to hockey, both as a player and a coach, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fostering a love for the game. Her journey began as a player, where she gained extensive experience in both field and indoor hockey, and transitioned into coaching to guide the next generation of athletes.
As a player, Coach Gawaxab competed in Premier League Club Hockey as a defender, where her team went undefeated three seasons in a row and secured three consecutive championship titles. She also had the honor of representing her country at the international level, gaining invaluable experience competing at a high standard.
She previously worked as an assistant coach at the Unam, where she played a key role in training and mentoring student-athletes. Additionally, she has coached youth players, assisting in skill development, game strategies, and fostering discipline and sportsmanship.
Now leading as head coach, Coach Gawaxab is committed to providing a structured and supportive environment where players can grow both on and off the field. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes fundamentals, teamwork, and continuous improvement, ensuring that each athlete reaches their full potential while maintaining a passion for the game.
In addition to her coaching experience, she holds academic qualifications in Project Management and Business Administration, which have equipped her with strong leadership and organizational skills. Outside of coaching, she enjoys spending time with her family—her husband and their two children, ages eleven and three.
