Head Coach: Jarrett Moffitt JMoffitt@parish.org
Coach Jarrett Moffitt is a native of Elmira, New York and has lived in Dallas, Texas for over six years. At Corning Painted-Post West High school he excelled on the football and lacrosse fields earning All-State honors on the grid iron and All-American honors on the lacrosse field. He ended his High School career as his school’s all-time leader in goals and points. Upon graduation, Coach Moffitt attended Hobart and William Smith colleges where he played Division I lacrosse for two years before an injury shortened his Division I career. Coach Moffitt then earned Empire 8 All-Conference as a Senior at Division III Alfred University where he led his team in goals and groundballs. After graduating from Hobart and William Smith in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, he pursued a coaching career at the collegiate level. For eight years he coached goalies, face off men, offense, and defense at Alfred University and then at SUNY Alfred State College. In 2017, Coach Moffitt was inducted into the Corning Sports Hall of Fame.
While in Dallas, Coach Moffitt has coached at the youth and high school levels. He led the Prosper Youth program to two city championships and one runner-up in three years as well as winning the 2019 State Championship as an assistant coach for Prosper’s varsity team. That same summer, Coach Moffitt enjoyed success coaching the 2024 Texas Mustangs team to a US Lacrosse National Championship. The last two seasons coach Moffitt was at the helm of McKinney Lacrosse Club’s varsity program. He is the Director of Texas Lacrosse for the Booth Lacrosse Select program. Coach Moffitt also runs an individual skill development program, One Way Lacrosse School (OWLS) that is open to any age group and skill level.
Coach Moffitt’s passion for coaching the sport of lacrosse is only outweighed by his love for his family. He is married to his wife Elizabeth, and they currently have one son, Jarrett James, born in August of 2020. The Moffitts are avid dog lovers, owning three of their own.
Coach Moffitt’s Coaching Philosophy:
“Effort and Attitude lead you where you want to be. Every sport’s cliché boils down to how much you are willing to do to achieve individual and team success. Team sports offer opportunities to develop skills that help create the best member of society you can be. If you put in your maximum effort and do so with a positive attitude you are left with no excuses or regrets. As my athletes grow into adults and move on into their adult lives, memories of wins and losses will fade, but the ability to work towards a group or individual goal in their next endeavors will be directly impacted by the amount of effort and type of attitude they put forth. A culture of maximum effort and positive mindset will take care of the outcomes on the scoreboard, but more importantly, it will lead to success in life.”
