Head Coach: Kimberley Self kself@parish.org
LPGA Class A Teaching Professional
Coach Self joined Parish Episcopal School in fall of 2004 as a physical education teacher and head golf coach. She is also a Class A LPGA Teaching Professional, U.S. Kids Certified Golf Instructor, and a 2015 Central Section LPGA Coach of the Year.
Coach Self was born in Dallas, Texas, and began playing at the age of 8 years old, and played competitive junior golf for many years. She is a 2-time Rolex All-American, and two National AJGA Titles, and a UIL 4 A State Championship. Coach Self was awarded the Dallas All-Sports Association Female Senior High School Athlete of the Year in 1989.
Coach Self played collegiately for Southern Methodist University and Texas Tech university. After graduating from Texas Tech University, with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences, she began a career in the golf industry. Coach Self worked at Tenison Park Golf Course, as an Assistant Golf Pro and Merchandise Manager, and also as a Teaching Professional for The Golf Institute, and Director of Instruction for the Nike Golf Learning Centers, at Twin Rivers Golf Course. In 1996, she served as the Sales and Marketing Manager for the JCPenney LPGA Skins Game, benefitting the Easter Seal Society of Greater Dallas.
In 1999, Coach Self ventured onto the SBC Futures Golf Tour, the developmental Tour of the LPGA. And after stops at Hockaday as Head Golf Coach and Episcopal School of Dallas as Assistant Golf Coach, she found herself at Parish, where she has been for the last 15 years.
Coach Self has created a highly respected/competitive Varsity Boys and Girls Golf Program, grades 7-12, which included 1 TAPPS Girls 4A Individual State Championship, 9 Academic All-State Student-Athletes, 1 TAPPS Boys 4A Team State Runner-Up, 17 TAPPS All-State Student-Athletes, 23 All-Regional Student-Athletes, 29 All-District Student-Athletes, 1 Senior Female Athlete of the Year, signed two female golfers to play golf for Southwestern University and University of Tampa respectfully, and helped to design and implement the construction of a 1200 square foot short game facility and two 10’x10’ hitting bays on campus.
